Black Dating Horror Stories

When it comes to interracial dating, a lot of people make some really stupid mistakes in their attempts to impress the person they are going out with. Just because someone is of a certain racial ethnicity, doesn’t mean they are some sort of stereo type. Its a good rule of thumb to just treat any man or women the same and have zero expectations about them, especially if they are based on their race. Unfortunately this isn’t always the case, and people embarrass themselves by assuming things based on the race of the person they are dating. These are some of those instances. We have complied these stories from friends and contributors to our site. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Black Dating Horror Story #1

I had an african american female friend tell me that she had a caucasian guy ask her out a dating site. She agreed since she liked his profile picture and had no other communication with him prior to that to base her decision on. He asked her to meet on a street corner downtown; he said he would be wearing a basketball jersey. She though nothing of it since maybe he was coming from a game of some kind. When she arrived to the street corner she saw her date wearing the jersey, but he was also wearing nice jeans and a button up shirt with dress shoes on. he found this weird but let it slide. He greeted her politely and said the restaurant was just a short distance away. As they we’re walking he stopped in front of a Popeyes chicken fast food restaurant and said “Here we are”. She took this as a joke and replied sarcastically “haha very funny” obviously not thinking his joke was funny. The man then got awkward and played his comment off as a joke. He then directed her towards the pub next door. She told me that he clearly did not plan on taking her to the pub originally since when she asked “why did you choose this place?” he awkwardly replied “just cause”. Needless to say, the date did not end well since most of his questions were presumptuous and were followed up by a “oh really?” when she wasn’t responding well to his racist assumptions about her. The man clearly didn’t wear the jersey for any other reason then to “impress” her. It should be said that a man should never wear any kind of jersey on a date for any reason! Just keep it simple and don’t over think things. Just be yourself and do not do something you think will impress your date!
